Driving Over Gold All the Time
This is more of a tip than a story...You drive over gold. No Way you say! Well you do. So what in the name of @#$% am I talking about? Have you ever seen those metal drain pipes that run under roads all over the desert? Did you ever notice that they have ridges? Did you ever stop to think they are just big sluices? They are. And sometimes no one has ever cleaned out the dirt in them. I know a guy who is in his 80's now, Clint is his name. I have not seen or talked to him in years but in the brief time I did know him he passed on a lot of valuable info to me. I'm not sharing it all. It all seems like yesterday...A group of us gathered on a friends claim when there was some water and we were getting set to dredge. Clint and his new girlfriend brought some pies for our lunch later in the day. Right before I headed down into the creek Clint called me aside and told me I had driven over more gold on the way in than all of us would probably find today. My first question was..."Why didn't you stop us there?" In his wisdom he replied "How are you going to dredge in a drain pipe?" Well his answer threw me off and he went on to explain as I did above. And, as always it turned out he was right. So, next time you go for a drive in the desert you might want to collect some of the gold you have driven over.
